At the time of the 1905-1908 maps the Shorefields area was not developed, and it remained as an area of open land below Cockburn Street. The Grafton Street end was (and still is) terminated by a sandstone cliff which falls away into the Herculaneum Dock. The latter being now filled and developed with housing

Some Toxteth Street are thus missing from the maps on the site and this extra map is show you where they all are.
